The anti-roll bar
In plain terms: in a corner, the car leans onto the outside and lifts on the inside, it "rolls". The anti-roll bar links the two wheels of the same axle: when one side compresses and the other extends, it twists and resists that motion. The stiffer it is, the less the car leans. Play with the slider below to see it.
How the anti-roll bar works
In a corner, weight transfer compresses the outer suspension and extends the inner. The bar links the two sides: forced in opposite directions, it twists and resists the chassis roll.
Long travel, chassis that leans: maximum grip but reduced stability.
Flat chassis, very responsive: watch out for under/oversteer if too firm.
